When a watch description says that it has a power reserve of 42 hours, it means that the watch can last up to two days when fully wound. A good power reserve is about 48 hours or two days, but there are a lot of luxury brands that boast of power reserves that last for weeks, and even months (we will discuss some of these watches below).
And this watch is just perfect for it. Chopard’s watchmaking expertise and vertically integrated approach enable most of the Happy Sport models to be driven by a 148-part Chopard 09.01-C movement – with automatic winding and a 42-hour power reserve – that is entirely designed, developed and produced in-house.
According to Chopard, this watch is the first manually-wound movement formed of four barrels (two assemblies of two barrels, having a 47cm-long spring. The power reserve indicator is placed at 12 o’clock, and there is also a date and small seconds display at 6 o’clock.
The collection proudly epitomizes Chopard's strategic choices in building Sustainable Luxury. Steel watches are thus equipped with cases and bracelets made of Lucent Steel™, a responsible alloy exclusive to the Maison and composed of at least 80% recycled material.
As an expression of its commitment to responsible luxury, Chopard has used responsibly sourced gold in the creation of its watches and jewelry since 2018. In line with this ethos, the Maison's gold models are crafted in Ethical Gold.
