The energy transfer control involves the dissipation of oscillation energy through the adjustment of damping power. In a regional power grid, based on the operating conditions and system model, if the estimated disturbance power does not exceed 10 % of the total capacity, i.e., Δ Pd = 0.1pu, the minimum inertia demand of the photovoltaic energy storage system can be obtained in this case, when the maximum allowable rate of change of frequency is set. As a result, sustained power oscillations occur after the short-circuit failure in the photovoltaic energy storage system. The synchronous power continues to oscillate for more than 15 s even after the short-circuit fault is cleared, which seriously threatens the system security.
